With so many “Christian” voices in the world, how do you know who to trust?
Go to the source: God’s Word!
At Thy Word In My Heart, we look to God Himself for answers, believing He's provided everything we need in His Word, the Holy Bible.
Every month we memorize a verse of Scripture, read the surrounding text and other relevant passages to understand the context of the verse, and explore real world examples of this verse in action. Most importantly, we pray and ask the Holy Spirit — who is God Himself — to teach us what we should know.
Join Walking In the Word, our FREE email Bible Study! Every month we...
- Memorize a new Bible Verse.
- Examine the surrounding verses and other relevant passages to ensure correct context. We want to know what the Bible really says, not twist it to fit our own ideas or desires. Nor do we want to rely solely on what we've heard from others.
- Explore real-world examples that demonstrate practical application of the Scripture(s). We’ll read blog posts from yours truly and/or articles from other trusted and vetted sources.
- Pray for the Holy Spirit’s guidance! My role is to facilitate the conversation. However, we must ask God Himself to teach us what we ought to know.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it cost to join the Bible study?
Nothing! God's Word is freely given to everyone, and this Bible study is, too! You'll occasionally be notified of new products in the shop, etc., but there's no purchase necessary.
Who is the Bible study for?
Anyone who wants to commit more Scripture to memory and wants a little extra motivation, guidance, and/or reminders to do so.
How are the monthly verses chosen?
Suggestions for the monthly verses are collected from audience polls (via email, social media, etc.), trusted leaders in my church and the Christian organizations I work with, and also from sermons/presentations I’ve heard. The final selections are made based on their applicability to everyday life and/or the struggles and situations many of us face in our lifetimes.
What Bible translation do you use?
I use the King James Version for two reasons: 1) it's my preferred translation to read, and 2) for copyright purposes, it's in the public domain.
What do you believe?
Excellent question, and I'm glad you asked! I share all the details about what I believe over on my Statement of Faith page.
What if the Bible study doesn't help me?
You are free to unsubscribe from emails at any time! My prayer is that you will find another study or Bible reading plan that keeps you engaged in God's Word. I'm not concerned that you continue to follow me, but I do pray you'll always seek after Jesus!
Who creates the artwork for the art prints and other products?
Me! I've always loved drawing, though it hasn't always been a disciplined practice. A couple of years ago I felt a very real "tug" to return to drawing, and signed up for a couple of courses on digital drawing and painting. I'm absolutely loving it! And with two young children around, it's often easier to pull out the iPad than paper and pens. (Also, can we give a shout-out to the undo button, for unexpected kiddo bumps?!?)
What are your shipping and return policies?
Great question! Please visit our Shipping and Returns Policy page for all the details.
I still have questions. How do I contact you?
I'm more than happy to answer all your questions! The easiest and fastest way to reach me is via the form on the Contact page.
