Grow in faith and knowledge of God’s Word... one verse at a time.
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
Psalm 119:11
Hiding God’s Word in your heart doesn’t happen passively or accidentally. It’s done intentionally… but it doesn’t have to be complicated or difficult!
Memorizing Scripture can be as simple as hanging a new art print on your wall!
Does any of this sound familiar?
Perhaps you’ve heard Psalm 119:11 at some point in your life, maybe even memorized it as a child. You might recall a few other verses you learned along the way (such as John 3:16) or can at least paraphrase some key passages.
You believe the Bible is God’s Word, inerrant and reliable, but you simply can’t quote much of it.
Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, whether it’s the death of a loved one, a lost job, a broken friendship, an unrealized dream, etc.
You know God’s Word holds comfort and direction, but which verses will help me right now?
Sometimes life gets overwhelming, and you find yourself drowning — even spiraling — in your own negative thoughts.
How can you renew your mind to God’s truth instead of marinating in your feelings?
Your greatest desire is to see your children grow up to love the Lord, and you know instilling a love of His Word in their hearts is a huge part of that process. However, you’re a bit embarrassed at how little of it you know yourself.
How can you grow in knowledge of the Scriptures alongside your children?
Hi! I'm Marianne!
One of the first Bible verses I ever learned was Proverbs 22:6, which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Do you know why I know it by heart? Because it was part of a cross-stitched family tree that hung in our living room in my childhood home. I saw it literally every day. I read it, and read it often. I didn’t intentionally decide to memorize it, but because it was always in front of me, it stuck with me… and I still know it by heart, even now in my 40s.
Thy Word In My Heart was formed on this same premise: continual, repeated exposure to God’s Word by displaying it prominently in the home — combined with intentional study — commits the Scripture to memory, and can in turn deepen our relationship and walk with Jesus.
I’m a blessed wife, boy mom, graphic designer, and artist. I love Jesus—the Savior of my soul—and do my best every day to follow Him, though I definitely make plenty of mistakes. My husband and I, to the best of our ability, are demonstrating to our boys what following Jesus looks like and the importance of knowing God’s Word.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).
Therefore we must seek truth in Him and Him only, and His truth is found in His Word.

So, how do I memorize the monthly Bible verse?
Display the 8x10” print (and also the 5x7" print, if you wish) in a prominent place (or two) in your home.
Read it every day, multiple times per day, both in your mind and out loud. Remember to include the reference—the book, chapter, and verse!
Write it down. Keep paper & a pen in the places you find yourself often (example: next to the TV remote in your living room), and regularly write out the verse. (Some people—myself included!—learn best when writing things down.)
Read and study the full chapter. Context is important!
Meditate on it. Think of it often, ponder its meaning, and list ways it applies to your daily life.
Repetition is one of the simplest and most powerful learning tools. Even if it feels like a bit “much” to repeat the same verse multiple times each day, don’t underestimate its effectiveness!
FAQ
YES, if you’re willing to put in the work. Memorizing Scripture is an intentional choice, and repetition is one of the greatest learning tools. If you put in the work to read it repeatedly, the memorization will come!
Some people prefer displaying 8x10” prints, while others prefer 5x7” prints. This gives you a choice! Plus, the ability to mail the smaller print with a handwritten note is an easy way to brighten someone’s day.
All packages are shipped in rigid cardboard envelopes via the United States Postal Service (USPS). Shipping is included in the cost of the subscription.
Suggestions for the monthly verses are collected from audience polls (via email, social media, etc.), trusted leaders in my church and the Christian organizations I work with, and also from sermons/presentations I’ve heard. The final selections are made based on their applicability to everyday life and/or struggles and situations many of us face in our lifetimes.
I use the King James Version for two reasons:
1—It's my preferred translation to read, and
2—For copyright purposes, it's in the public domain.
Me! I've loved to draw all my life, though it hasn't always been a disciplined practice. A couple years ago I felt a very real "tug" to return to drawing, and signed up for a couple of courses on drawing and painting digitally. I'm absolutely loving it! And with two young children around, it's often easier to pull out the iPad than paper and pens. (Also, can we give a shout-out to the undo button, for unexpected toddler bumps?!?)
- Start a gallery wall or add the print to an existing one
- Move the print to a new location in your home or office
- Regift the print to a friend or family member
